1994 Upper Deck Mickey Mantle/Ken Griffey Jr. PSA/DNA Authentic Single-Signed Cards Pair (2 Different)

Each card has been encapsulated by PSA, with Autograph Certified and assessed "Authentic" by PSA/DNA. Hall of Famer. During the 1990s, "chase" card inserts became an extremely popular trend in the collecting industry. In those early times, some were just gimmicky ploys to sell more packs (the cutting up of a valuable vintage card, for example, and offering a small piece of it in a card-sized display). Others, however, were immediately recognized as classy and desirable offerings. Presented here are two formidable examples of the latter type. These are 1994 Upper Deck inserts, both showing the same, attractively rendered likenesses of Mickey Mantle and Ken Griffey Jr. The Mantle/Griffey inserts were randomly distributed in packs and bore either one or both of the players' autographs; one of these stars has signed the obverse of one of the offered cards in black ink, and the other member of the pair has similarly placed his penmanship on the second example. The pair includes:

- 1994 Upper Deck Mickey Mantle/Ken Griffey Jr., Single-Signed by Griffey - PSA/DNA Authentic (96029024). A holographic UDA label (#AUA41511), additionally certifying the authenticity of the signature, is adhered to the reverse;
- 1994 Upper Deck Mickey Mantle/Ken Griffey Jr., Single-Signed by Mantle - PSA/DNA Authentic (31385821).

Sadly, Mickey Mantle passed away in 1995. The cards display a barely circulated manner of appearance.
